Hyperhidrosis is the common medical term for excessive sweating. Although sweating is a normal way the body releases excess body fluid and salts and also the way it expels the toxins in the system, excessive sweating can be an indication that there is a malfunction in the sympathetic nervous system.

Expert says that overactive sweat glands can lead to hyperhidrosis. Several researches and studies showed that the causes of excessive perspiration can be thru puberty. Once a person reaches puberty, he is most likely prone to excessive sweating due to biological changes happening in the body. Other factors that cause this ailment include as hereditary, and menopausal. Besides bodily conditions, other habitual reasons are unhealthy diet, smoking, and heavy in take of alcohol.

Another of the excessive sweating causes may be due to the pre-existing medical conditions that you already have. Some people who have diabetes experience heavy sweating whenever they have dips in their blood sugar levels. They sweat profusely whenever the sugar level in their blood goes higher or lower than normal. One way to avoid this from happening is to control their diet and monitor their blood sugar levels to prevent excessive sweating and other diabetic symptoms.

Still, there are studies revealing that too much water and sugar consumption causes excessive sweating. The body can tolerate an amount of water level. Once the body over flow with water it releases the excess amounts thru the skin thereby it produces extreme sweat. Also, too much intake of foods rich in sugar can trigger too much sweat. To avoid this happen, you must cut down sugary foods.

People engaging to strenuous physical activities are also prone to excessive perspiration than normal. When the body exerts too much physical activities and put under stress, the brain sends signal that it needs more water. When the electrolytes looses during strenuous work out, then it needs to replace with water. People who exert work outs drink a lot of water than the usual. The effect of too much water in the body causes excessive perspiration.

There are studies that show that the psychological make-up of a person is one of the excessive sweating causes. Although excessive sweating is treated more as a medical condition rather than a mental disease, there is a correlation of the person’s mental state and the effects of his environment that affects his psychological persona. If a person is put under a situation that causes him a lot of anxiety he can show of his stress by sweating profusely.

It is normal to sweat especially if you are doing some extraneous activities, but if you are resting and you perspire too much, you may be experiencing hyperhidrosis. excessive sweating causes can be controlled as well as not, hence it can be treated and prevented.
