Carbon monoxide is not being called the silent killer for nothing. Any form of leak in your house must be treated with a heightened sense of urgency. Not a lot of people realize that exposing ourselves to this harmful chemical can prove to be lethal, and so we need to make sure that we are able to take all the necessary precautions in preventing it from happening.

What you need to do is ask from a go signal from anyone from emergency services or your local plumbing or utility company personnel. That should be the only time that you would go back in. After they confirm, try to do a quick check of all the items in your house. Keep your vents in good working condition and never leave an appliance plugged or kept on for a long time if not being used.
